CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Sandi Clark’s restaurant is hanging in there. In spite of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

It isn’t the first time her business has faced challenges, such as road construction that shut down easy access to her building for several months.

The owner of Sandi’s Diner on Ayers Street said the building has also been broken into four times since March.

But, the restaurant is persisting and is one of three that earned a Perfect Score from the Kitchen Cops.

California Pizza Kitchen Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Houston on Wednesday, becoming the latest restaurant chain to try to cut debt as it grapples with the pandemic.
